GARBRICK RETURNS TO STORMERS

Former Phillie Farmhand Joins Lancaster for 2026

Alex Garbrick, who made only two starts in 2025 before an injury curtailed his season, will make his return to the Stormers in 2026, it was announced today by manager Ross Peeples.

He becomes the seventh player under contract for the upcoming campaign.

Garbrick, 27, opened the third game of the 2025 season for the Stormers, working three innings against the Long Island Ducks in a game Lancaster would go on to win, 3-2.  He allowed four hits and two walks in three innings of work.  He took the hill again at home against Gastonia on May 3 and lasted into the third inning.  The right-hander attempted a comeback later in the season but never returned to the active roster.

Prior to joining the Stormers, the native of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania spent four seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, peaking at Class A+ Jersey Shore.  Garbrick was 6-4 with four saves and a 5.33 ERA in 68 career games in the Philadelphia system.

“Alex looked good early, then fought an injury that eventually required surgery,” said Peeples.  “He is fully healthy now, and I look forward to him responding from the injury.  I am happy to have him back.”

He pitched three seasons at Morehead State and one year at South Carolina-Upstate, winning 14 collegiate games while fanning 185 in 171 innings of work.  Garbrick was the Phils’ 17th round pick in 2021 out of the latter.

The Stormers will look to reach the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, beginning April 21 at York.  They will open their home schedule three days later with a 6:45 start against Long Island.
