VETERAN STORMER CARPENTER RETURNS

Cedar Crest Product Back for Fifth Season

Right-handed slugger Joseph Carpenter returns for a fifth season with his hometown Lancaster Stormers, it was announced today by manager Ross Peeples.

He is the 18th player to sign with the Stormers for the upcoming.

Carpenter, 26, has spent his career with the Stormers since signing in August, 2022.  Over his time with the Stormers, the right-handed hitter has amassed 45 homers and 80 doubles while scoring 179 runs and driving home 194 while hitting .288.

He has also been amazingly consistent.  His average has ranged only from .279 to .297 in his four seasons while his slugging percentage has varied only from .460 to .504.

The Lebanon County native has played a key role in the Stormers run of four consecutive second half title wins and the league championships in 2022 and 2023.  He also slugged homers in all three games of the Lebanon County Weekend in 2023.

In the 2024 season, the first baseman/outfielder strung together the longest hitting streak of the season by a Stormer, batting safely in 19 straight, hitting .375 (30-80).  It was tied for the fourth longest streak in franchise history.

Carpenter’s season was cut short in 2025 when he sustained an injury heading into second base on August 29.  He did not appear the remainder of the campaign.

“’Carp’ has been a solid player for us over the years,” said Peeples.  “He can play both the corners and the outfield and will see some action in both the infield and outfield.  He is a professional who works his tail off and just loves baseball.  On top of that, he is a great human being.”

The Stormers open their bid to reach the playoffs for a fifth straight season at York on Tuesday, April 21.  Three nights later, the home schedule begins with a 6:45 first pitch against the Long Island Ducks.
