TWO STORMERS NAMED ALL-STARS

Martinez, Schultz Stand Out Among Peers

Two pitchers from the 2026 Lancaster Stormers were named to the Drake Baseball mid-season Atlantic League All-Star Team, it was announced today by league officials through Dugout TV.

The selections were made by the league’s ten field managers.

Left-hander starting pitcher Quinton Martinez and closer Andrew Schultz were the Stormers two selections.  Both impressed enough over the season’s first several weeks to earn the selection.

Martinez made nine starts for the Stormers and went 5-1 with a 2.94 ERA.  The southpaw from Orlando, Florida threw six shutout innings at Staten Island in the second game of a doubleheader on May 24 and followed that, six days later, with seven more scoreless frames against Long Island.  Over those two starts, he gave up only six hits while walking five and striking out 14.  In his next start, he held Gastonia off the scoreboard until a sixth inning home run.  Overall, he threw 21 consecutive innings without his opponents notching a run.  

In addition, the Stormers won the last eight times that Martinez took the mound.  

Martinez’ contract was purchased by Fubon of the Chinese Professional Baseball League, following Lancaster’s June 14 game.

Schultz dominated the late stages of games from the right side of the mound.  The native of Alpharetta, Georgia went 2-0 with six saves and a 1.69 ERA over 16 appearances out of the pen.  Schultz walked 12 and struck out 31. He recorded saves in five consecutive appearances over a span of seven days, May 15-21.

The former Phillies farmhand threw hitless baseball over 10 straight appearances from May 6-29 and allowed only one hit to a right-handed batter during his entire stay with Lancaster.

Hie contract was purchased by the St. Louis Cardinals on June 4, and he is currently with Class AA Springfield.
