Right-handed reliever Jackson Rees has been signed to a minor league contract by the Baltimore Orioles, it was announced today.
Rees, 32, played a key role in Lancaster’s playoff runs in the 2024 and 2025 seasons. The native of Aliso Viejo, California appeared in 42 games during 2024, posting a 7-1 record and 4.25 ERA. He returned for the 2025 season, posting a 5-3 mark with two saves and a 2.95 ERA in 52 appearances.
Overall, Rees pitched 101.1 innings for Lancaster, allowing 86 hits while striking out 133 and compiling a 3.46 ERA.
He spent the 2026 season with Dos Laredos of the Mexican League. He was 1-1 with four saves and a 2.63 ERA over 24 appearances.
Prior to coming to the Stormers, Rees spent six seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays organization, peaking at Class AAA Buffalo.
“I’m very happy and excited for this opportunity for Rees,” said Lancaster manager Ross Peeples. “He has worked very hard the last year and a half to put himself in this situation. I’m actually surprised this has not happened before. He has one of the best sinkers that I have seen in my career.”
