Key to 2025 Playoff Run Signs with Big League Organization
Joey Campagna, who played a critical role in the Stormers’ second half title run in 2025, has been signed by the Detroit Tigers for the 2026 season, it was announced today.
Campagna, 29, will be playing for the first time in a Major League organization. The catcher/third baseman from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania hit .331 in 48 games while belting nine homers, many of them in key situations, and driving in 29 runs. He also did a masterful job handling the pitching staff, with the group compiling a stingy 3.34 ERA with Campagna behind the plate.
Earlier in the season, the right-handed hitter batted .243 with four homers in 45 games for division-rival Hagerstown.
The slugger had been with Hagerstown in 2024 as well. Previously, he spent time in the American Association and Frontier Leagues.
“It’s good to see Campagna get a chance with affiliated baseball,” said Stormers manager Ross Peeples. “He’s a great clubhouse guy and plays multiple positions. We wish him the best with the Tigers organization.”
