STORMERS SIGN PAIR OF NEWCOMERS

Robertson, Rosengard Join Club

The Lancaster Stormers have signed outfielder Tyler Robertson and infielder Ben Rosengard to contracts for the 2026 season, it was announced today by manager Ross Peeples.

With these additions, the Stormers have 21 players on the roster for the upcoming campaign.  Players will report on April 10, and spring training will begin on April 11.

Robertson, 26, has spent the past four years with the San Diego Padres organization after being drafted in the 14th round out of Louisiana-Lafayette in 2022.  He peaked at Class AA San Antonio in 2025.

Over his time with the San Diego system, Robertson batted .259 with 16 homers and 91 RBI.  He stole 52 bases.  The Alabama native had his best season in 2023, batting .284 with 31 steals between the Padres’ two Class A clubs in Ft. Wayne and Lake Elsinore.

“Tyler will most likely anchor center field but will also shift him over to left at times,” said Peeples.  “We got great word on him and his athleticism.  He was (considered) a five-tool guy at one time, and we hear he still has all the tools.”

Rosengard, 26, played briefly in this March’s World Baseball Classic for Team Israel.  The left-handed batting infielder appeared in the late innings of two of Israel’s four games in the tournament without having a plate appearance.

The Chicago native is the defending batting champion in the independent Pioneer League, batting a ridiculous .463 for the Idaho Falls Chukars.  Of his 106 hits, 32 were for extra bases.  He drove in 57 runs and scored 80 in his 66 games last season while carrying a stratospheric 1.274 OPS.

Prior to his two seasons in Idaho Falls, Rosengard had made collegiate stops at the University of Chicago, Rice University and UC – San Diego.  He batted a composite .269 in college and also batted over .300 for two of his five seasons in the Northwoods League (college wood bat).

“Rosengard can play all over the infield,” said Peeples.  “He comes highly recommended by (former Lancaster and Atlantic League Player of the Year) Blake Gailen (his hitting coach with Team Israel).”

The Stormers begin their quest for a fifth straight playoff berth at York on April 21 and will kick off the home schedule at Penn Medicine Park on Friday, April 24 at 6:45 against the Long Island Ducks.
