Top 20 Countdown Has Begun

The Lancaster Stormers have begun the countdown of the top 20 players in franchise history as voted on by the team’s fans and a panel of staff members and local media.  Over the past 10 days, the club has announced the first five.

Here are the first five:

20)  UTL Lloyd Turner.  Turner played for Lancaster from 2008-10.  In 2008, he set the franchise record with 13 triples and 94 walks.  The Georgia native is also the career triples leader.  Turner is currently the hitting coordinator at the Oakland A’s camp in Phoenix.

19)  Jason Urquidez.  Pitched for the Stormers from 2012-15, on and off.  He allowed only one earned run in 36 innings in 2013.  Urquidez ranks second in career saves with 52 and has a 1.54 ERA in his Stormers career.  After pitching in Lancaster, Urquidez pitched in Mexico and Japan through 2020.

18)  Jeremy Todd.  Played first base in Lancaster from 2005-07.  Todd was obtained midway through the 2005 season from the Newark Bears.  In 2 ½ seasons in Lancaster, Todd clubbed 59 homers and drove home 211 runs in 265 games played.  Todd is currently the resident golf pro at Harrisburg Country Club.

17)  Tommy Everidge.  The first baseman for Lancaster in 2011-12.  Everidge was the Atlantic League Player of the Year in 2011, rapping out a club record 41 doubles.  He slugged 28 homers and drove in 94.  He was also a member of the Freedom Division Championship squad in 2012.  After serving as Oakland’s hitting coach the last two years, he is now the minor league hitting coordinator for the Washington Nationals.

16)  Dwayne Pollok.  The right-hander amassed a 32-7 record over two seasons (2012-13) in a Stormers uniform.  In the 2013 season, he won 18 games, tying the league record which still stands.  The Texas native also picked up two wins in the 2012 playoffs.  Pollok is now an elementary school PE teacher in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

Five more will be announced over the next ten days, then, beginning April 20, the team will release one name per day leading into the home opener on April 30.
