STORMERS ADD INFIELDER

Last Minute Moves Set Opening Day Roster

The Lancaster Stormers have signed and activated infielder Jeremy Arocho, a member of last season’s championship York club, it was announced today by manager Ross Peeples.

Arocho, 27, batted .283 with three homers and 39 RBI for the Revolution in 2025, his first season in the Atlantic League.  Two of his three homers came at Lancaster’s expense, and the switch hitter hit at a .353 clip against his new club.

He also batted .267 (8-for-30) during the playoffs.  Four of the hits came in the Division Series against the Stormers.

Arocho was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 27th round in 2017.  After spending three years with the Dodgers, he moved on to play in the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros farm systems.  The Maryland native reached Class AAA Salt Lake for one game in 2021 and spent the entire 2024 season with Class AA Corpus Christi.

“Arocho is a guy we went after last year,” said Peeples.  “I like his style of play.  He brings a lot of value in what we want to do.  He puts a lot of pressure on the defense.  He will probably lead off for us and mostly play the infield, but we might shift him into the outfield on occasion.”

The Stormers have released RHP Justin Needles, their draft pick from the IndyBall Jobs Pro Days, and outfielder Sebastian Alexander.  They also traded infielder Benjamin Rosengard to the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League to complete an earlier deal.

Lancaster opens its 2026 season on Tuesday evening at York’s WellSpan Park at 6:30.  Noah Bremer, who has won ten games each of the last two seasons for Lancaster, will make the start against York’s Chris Vallimont, who is also in his third Atlantic League season.

The home opener is set for this Friday night against the Long Island Ducks at 6:45.
