Barnstormers, Blue Crabs Rained Out!

Doubleheader Scheduled for Wednesday

The game between the Lancaster Barnstormers and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs scheduled for Monday evening, August 21 was postponed due to heavy rains that struck in the middle of the third inning.

Play could not be resumed due to wet grounds and a forecast of additional thunderstorms later in the evening.

At the time, the Barnstormers were leading, 1-0, on an RBI single by Sean Halton in the first inning. Tommy Shirley had thrown three shutout innings on one hit and two walks. The left-hander had struck out four.

The game will be started from scratch as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday evening, August 23. Both games will be seven innings. The first pitch of the twinbill will be thrown at 6:30.

Lancaster and Southern Maryland are scheduled to play a single game on Tuesday evening with Rommie Lewis (7-10) making the start for the Barnstormers against right-hander Drew Hayes (7-6). Fans may tune into the Barnstormers YouTube Channel at 6:15.
