Pack the Park Hits a Home Run
Lancaster Barnstormers Community Effort Helps Those in Need
Lancaster, PA – Pack the Park 2022 has wrapped up with a tremendous outpouring of donations from the community. Hosted by the Lancaster Barnstormers at Clipper Magazine Stadium, the event served as a collection of non-perishable food, new clothing, toiletry, and other items for those in need in the surrounding community.
Donated items were distributed to nearly a dozen community groups, including Lancaster Food Hub, Crispus Attucks Community Center and Tenfold. In all, 28 skids of product, totaling over 20,000 pounds, was collected.
Items were collected at the Two Dudes Box Office at Clipper Magazine Stadium during normal business hours the week of January 24. The public was also invited to bring donations to the stadium on Saturday, January 29 from 9 am-Noon, where they were greeted by the team’s mascot, Cylo, and Barnstormers staffers.
In addition to donations from individuals and families, several local businesses made contributions, including Grove Collaborative, Johnson & Johnson, Hess Brothers and Gap View Farm Market.
“Giving back to the community is very important to our organization,” said Maureen Wheeler, Director of Community Relations for the Lancaster Barnstormers. “This is just one way we accomplish that goal.”
