FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY SEASON ON TAP

Barnstormers Set to Open Gates, April 26

The Lancaster Barnstormers’ quest to return to the playoffs begins on Friday, April 26th on the 2019 Atlantic League schedule released today by league officials.

That night marks the first of 140 games, 70 at home, for the Barnstormers in their 15th anniversary season, presented once again by Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

For the first time since 2013, the Lancaster Barnstormers will begin a season at home, hosting the brand new High Point (NC) Rockers in their inaugural game on the 26th.

The 2019 Barnstormers home schedule will feature five doubleheaders with consecutive evening starts against Sugar Land on May 7, versus High Point on July 16 and against New Britain on August 7. Day-night twinbills are slated against York on June 15 and against Somerset on June 26. Other day games are penciled in on May 1 and 2 against the Long Island Ducks and versus the New Britain Bees on May 23.

Lancaster will entertain guests on 11 different weekends over the course of the season as well as on Labor Day. The ‘Stormers will be at home for Father’s Day (June 16) as well.

On Memorial Day Weekend, the Barnstormers will begin defense of the War of the Roses Community Cup Series with a three-game set at York. Lancaster won the cup with a 10-8 victory in the season series in 2018.

Both halves of the split schedule will end with the potential of a crucial series against the archrival Revs. The two clubs conclude the first half in Lancaster while the regular season will come to a finish at York’s People’s Bank Park.
